Matt Blake has been promote to the role of Director at Bedrock. With Lisa Topliss he becomes part of the company Board overseeing the future of the company.

Matt is a founding member of Bedrock Tax Ltd which formed in 2015. He gained his Law degree from Nottingham Trent University before entering the world of tax with a role in HMRC’s Criminal Investigation Department.

He has also worked for specialist tax advisory and litigation support companies as well as PKF LLP in Nottingham where he was a VAT Manager. Matt’s a Chartered Tax Adviser and Associate of the Institute of Indirect Taxation who has specialised in VAT for more than 15 years

Matt has valuable experience of working with clients that have taken cases to the VAT Tribunal and the European Court of Justice. Alongside his VAT specialism Matt also works with clients who are involved in disputes with HMRC, assists with negotiating assessments, mitigating penalties and managing client relationships with HMRC.

Matt is a keen runner and cyclist, that is when he’s not playing his ukulele.

We’re finding there’s a real demand for our services particularly from accountants that need tax expertise that doesn’t threaten their client relationships.
